Anita interviews Dorian Alexis, the co-owner of Samson Gym; he explains why they have created a charity called Samson Academy.
Samson Academy works with the homeless, substance addicts, young people, gang members, young people who are on the autistic spectrum, isolated older adults and adults with learning disabilities.
Dorian describes how Samson Academy is structured, plus their successes.
He talks frankly about why he feels that young people have been let down by the establishment and decision-makers. Plus he states that the people in power do not understand youth culture, young people, and have forgotten what it is like to be young.
He also answers the following questions ‘ do young people today feel entitled’, ‘are young people spoilt’, ‘are they badly parented’ and ‘do they have poor work ethics’?
Dorian is frank and open; he thinks that grassroots organisations like his academy can engage and address social issues.
This Saturday 31st August Samson Academy and the group BOLD are holding a Youth Music Festival and fundraiser called ‘ Breaking the Cycle.’ At ‘ A Different Brew’ 106 Clapham Road MK41 7PJ Bedford
